The properties in this neighborhood can claim Omaha's inaugural Street of Dreams from 1978. At that time, the closest neighborhood was a few miles away. That's certainly not the case now, as the area is conveniently located between Dodge-Blondo St and 144th-156th St in West Omaha.
Eldorado is known for their many Common Areas. Most of the homes do not back directly to another neighbor. Instead, it's very common to have about 30 yards of Common Area to serve as a buffer between houses. The common areas are great for dog walking or just some extra space to play catch. If that's not enough room, there is a 3-4 acre community area in the middle of the neighborhood for residents to use as they please. Occasionally you'll see young kids in an organized soccer game and it also hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Another amenity of the neighborhood is their many cul-de-sacs which allow for mostly quiet streets. During the winter, many of the cud-de-sacs are too tight for the city snow plows to maneuver. For this primary reason, Eldorado and two other adjoining neighborhoods (Seville and Stonehenge) are yet to be annexed by the City of Omaha.
As an overview, there are three additions within the neighborhood. The First Addition hosted the Street of Dreams and naturally, has the largest lot sizes and largest homes in Eldorado. The Second Addition and Third Additions have a gradual transition in lot and home size. Currently, home values in Eldorado are in the range of $125,000-$200,000.
