Does your house hold hazardous waste? Most likely.

Here is a small list of items that could be considered hazardous.

Paint and paint related materials, such as stain, varnishes, etc.



Banned Materials


Insecticides and other lawn material

Lead Acid Batteries

Mercury and Mercury related materials

Outdated and unwanted pharmaceuticals

So, what do you with these material? Call you city Recycling centers. They can tell you what to do.

In Fremont They are holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Saturday October  12, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 1:00PM in the West Parking Lot Christensen Field. All Residents in the Dodge Co. area are welcome to dispose of their hazardous wastes. Call 402-941-6122 if you have questions or to volunteer.

How to recycle your house hold batteries:

Place in a zip lock bag

Batteries that are corroded will not be accepted

Call 402-941-6122 in Dodge Co to find out when to drop off batteries

How to recycle compact Fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)

Place in a zip lock bag call the same number. They will not take broken bulbs.


Black out personal information and take your medication to the local Fremont Police department. They can not take liquid prescriptions drugs. Call your pharmacy on how to discard of those items.

The Drug Enforcement Agency conducts twice yearly collection events for prescription drugs. Oct. 26th is the next event for Dodge Co. Call Keep Fremont Beautiful for more information.
